Hello. My name is Linda Deeming.
|
 |
I am an RN with a Bachelors of Science
in Nursing, a Master's in Business Administration and a
Master's in Health Care Management. I am married
to my best friend, have two wonderful teenage children
and have been working on adopting a 14 year old from the Internaut we have worked in at Kerch, Crimea, Ukraine. We hope
to have
this process completed during the spring of 2006. |
The primary thread that holds my life and all I do is my
faith that
Jesus is God, who died so that the debt for my sins would be
paid, and
who rose from the dead three days later proving He was God. My
parents
taught me from a young age that if it is in the Bible, it can be
trusted. That God can be trusted to never leave and to do that
which
He promised to do, give us hope for a future. As a young adult,
I
researched what I had been taught as a child and all that I had
grown
to hold on to and determined that it was truth and not just what
I had
been taught from a child. The faith of my childhood became the
faith of
my life. Jesus has proved himself over and over in my life and
it is
my sincere desire to live my life according to scriptures.
In February, 2004; my family and I were introduced to the
mission work
of The Least of These and we took our first trip to Ukraine in
the
summer. We spent many hours with children from ages 3 through
16 and
presented an age appropriate program each day showing them how
God is
relevant to their lives and how He gives us hope. We also
brought
humanitarian aide and showed them love and acceptance. No one
could
have prepared us for the emotional hardship we encountered as
our trip
came to a close. We fell in love with the country, culture and
people
of Ukraine. It has only been a natural outpouring of our love
that we
have returned and plan to return again.
In January of 2005, my husband and I were asked to consider
being a
part of the Board of Directors for the Least of These. We
accepted
and were voted into the position. There has been no greater
privilege
than to be a part of an organization that does not have paid
American
staff, but rather puts 100% of the giving into the work. Please
read
about the projects that have been done, are currently underway
and
which are hoping to be complete in the future. Please
prayerfully
consider how you might be a part of taking care of the mind,
body and
spiritual needs of the Children in Ukraine and Russia. Jesus
said,
"in as much as you do it for the least of these, you have done
it unto
me".
